The Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine shares a pioneering new chapter in medical education, as the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, a credentialing agency for medical education programs, has granted it preliminary accreditation. This transformational achievement means the College of Medicine officially opens to students as the only HBCU medical school in the Gulf South. Recruitment will begin immediately for the first class of students in 2027.
