School shooting response requires schools, police, fire, and EMS to work from one coordinated plan. The updated SSAVEIM Train-the-Trainer course from the National Center for Integrated Emergency Response (NCIER) brings them into the same room to practice that response together, from the first 911 call through reunification. Across two days, up to 30 trainer candidates work through scenario-based exercises on maps of their own campuses, then learn how to deliver the training locally. Successful candidates receive a three-year trainer certificate. It’s written for superintendents, principals and school safety directors, and for the law enforcement, fire, EMS and emergency management leaders who would respond with them.
